What size of binding, should I get for them?
Have you guys done a review on the bent 110. If you haven’t what’s the main difference between the 100 and 110?
Loving the new MFree 108! It’s heavier than my backland 107, but the dampness helps get through crudy variable conditions while having some great energy & pop. Charges w/o chatter at high speed, rips groomers on edge, and bombs through 15-20” powder with ease. Great all around surfy ski with easy tail release which is what I was looking for. Found my new daily driver for PNW.
would you take these on a day to day piste runs? not really at 100km/.h but 50-60 down the mountain on groomers. cheers! not really sure about that width 102 mid, compared to prodigy 2 where is at 98 but those are more into park skiing than im interested in.
There is no metal in Bent 100...
Can you compare this ski to the Rustler 11? I appreciated your videos on both and I'm looking at these options and haven't had the chance to ride either yet. 5'11" 160 lbs advanced / expert in Montana seeking a playful powder ski to round my 3 ski quiver (Kastle mx 83 and QST 98). The Free 110 and Rustler 11 both speak to me and looking for some feedback from someone who's ridden both. Nimble quickness in tight trees and charging soft chop are both important qualities. Thanks!
What bindings do you recommend for this?
NIIICE pice of wood! quite similar to the old faction ct2 dimensions. exactly what i' was searching for.
do they work well on piste as well?
Are they more soft that K2 Marksman? What do you think? Thx
My Swany gloves are fantastic, just not cutting it below 0 since it's not a mitten design
Im 5’10 and 70 kg. I do tricks off pist / between tricks / take as gap as possible. And 30% park. Should I take 177 ?
Yea, that size would be great!
Review needs a microphone…
"I am handicapped, but one day I will also go skiing. This is my dream."
i just bought these, excited to get them out there. utah/montana
Did you skied on this boots? Well, let me tell you that are not as Lange LV used to built . This Boots are commercially orientated for the weekends warriors! They are way to confortable and the flex is not near 130! These are soft foots, easy in and out and it feels like a 99 mm last!
How these compared to Volkl revolt 104? Thanx
Meh, 1st of all there is no titanal in this ski, 2nd there is not really "light" swingweight. PU isn't that much more light than wood and they are still over 2000g for most sizes.
Hi, I'm 175cm 79kg and I'm unsure what size of this ski I should go for?
Hey, I would say your options are the 176 and the 184! The 176 is going to feel more maneuverable and quick, but it's not going to feel confident at high speeds, and in chop, it might get thrown around. The 184 will be better at high speed and will handle chop better, but it's going to take more energy to manipulate ski, and in tight areas at slower speeds, you are going to really have to put energy through the ski to get it to react.
Im 179 cm, should i take the 175cm or 182 cm ?
It definitely depends on how aggressive a skier you are and what you're looking for in a ski. I would say the 175 cm would be better for slower skiing, trees and moguls, but you will definitely find its speed limit at higher speeds. The 182 will be able to handle more speed but will be less maneuverable. Hope this helps!
@ thanks :)
❤ so many years.... Hard to live it. You Know ! Life is hard in the mountains. Respect ISCHGL X GAMES
Ripstick is my alltime favorite
How is this compared to the Hestra 3 finger?
The Hestra will be made entirely of leather while the back of the LaDown will not be leather. We would say the Hestra three-finger will be slightly more rugged, but the LaDown mitt will be warmer.
175cm 69 kg is the 179 good for me ?
Yes! I would say that size is great for you.
@ thanks 👍👍
I like that design!
How they are comparé to thé mana 3 ? If I want something playfull, make tricks in all kind of snow. Jumps on naturel environnement, make switch / 360 etc
The Reckoner 110 will definitely feel softer than the Mana 3! The Mana 3 will give you more of a landing gear when landing off-piste but the Reckoner 110 is much more surfy and soft providing this really fun flowy experience that you only can get out of the Mana at high speeds.
@ Thanks a lot ! Im 178 cm for 68kg. Im actually skiing on faction ct 2.0 177. What size should I get for reckoner 110
How would it compare the Enforcer 104 Free? I like the Free...but sometimes it can be a little heavy-ish. I like damp but aIso want playful.
I would say the Declivity X 108 definitely fits what you are looking. It going to feel slightly more playful than the Enforcer Free 104, but not as damp. It is also be less surfy in the tail when compared to the Enforcer Free 104. I would the overall difference is that it's going to feel more engaging and responsive than the Enforcer Free 104.
@@Freeskier Awesome...thx for this! I think I need to grab a pair of these!
How does it compare to mfree 99 or playmaker 101
The M-free 99 and Playmaker 101 are going to feel more robust underfoot when compared to the Bent 100. The Bent 100 will over all feel softer and more playful making it more fun a slow to medium speeds and great for jibbing around the mountain. The M-free and Playmaker will be happier at medium to high speeds and will feel more stable when skiing off-piste.
Can you have it in the park?
These skis will definitely be able to hit jumps and some rails in the park but they are not designed to excel in the park. If you are looking to spend most of your time in the park I would look for something else!
Booster recommends you place the strap between the liner and the shell at the front of the boot. Not like what is shown here. When it is installed properly you won’t see the words Booster…. She has the back part right (the XXX patterned part of the strap but the flexible part should go between the liner and shell overlaps. Hope that makes sense. It makes for a way better feeling and better performance.
These are Freeskier. They put their straps outside. They are pros.
@ I guess it is a racer thing to put them inside. If you have them, try it both ways. See what ya think.
Thanks for the vid! I'm 6 ft 2 and 155 pounds. Should I go for the 179 or 186??
You could honestly get away with either. At 6'2, I'm leaning more towards 186 for you. The ski is very light and has great camber, so it rides like it's a bit smaller. For you, what I think it comes down to is this. If you want a more playful ski, that's a little bit easier to maneuver, then go for the 179. If you like to really charge runs, higher speed or spend more time off-piste, then 186.
We completely agree!
looking for a replacement to my 188cm Soul 7 HD's. I have the limited season Black, yellow and orange one. Hands down my favorite ski of all time and hard to find anything better. Want to look at the Sender 102 even though its a liitle narrower
Are you the guy in the written review???
I am about to buy them. I am 188 cm but idk if I should take the 179cm or the 186cm, any recommendations anyone?
I am also 188cm and will buy the 186, I think it suits my style more but it depends
Bring steezy boots like this back. Im still rideing these...;) goin out today ....
Wonderful review. Probably one of the best I have heard and I have heard many, trust me. This looks like a winner. I’ve owned the Bonafide, Cochise and Firebird. I can relate to what he is saying about this model. 👍
Please do a video of how to install these booster straps
I have been using Booster Straps for years. One thing to try when you get them. Don’t just strap them on like the original strap as shown in this video. Put the flexible part between the liner and the shell at the front of the boot. It takes a couple more seconds to set up but you get an even better flex pattern from it. Try it both ways. Firstly you will notice just how much better the boot performs with the Boosters but once it is between the liner and shell it is even better. Booster actually recommends this. Ya, you can’t see the logo but your pants cover it anyway.
Normalize noodling around, dog. You’re talking like people *SHOULD* go for bigger lines in steep and deep. That’s how people buy too much ski and dislike skiing.
I bought a set of these skis last summer.I was told they ski short. So I stepped up a size. Is this true, or did I talk to the wrong salesman?
Yeah, I would say so! Because of the tip and tail rocker on this ski, it has less of an effective edge on the snow than say a ski without tail rocker.
Aaaaawwww man - Ive got a pair or 114 powder skis and just bought myself some 102 reckoners for all mountain....I had been looking for this exact kind of ski eg powder and all mountain in the one ski :(
This ski is so fun in the powder. It just loves WHEEELIE!
How would you compare this to the K2 Reckoner 102? An intermediate skier who just recently got into off piste skiing as well as park skiing.
The Bent 100 definitely has a more consistent flex through out the ski, where I find that the K2 Reckoner has a more soft flex vertically while having a stiffer flex horizontally. I would say I would choose the bent 100 because it's going to be more predicable especially if you ever find yourself backseat as you progress to steeper pitches.
How tall are you and what size are these? I’m an intermediate skier who traditionally skis groomers but last season my friends got me into going off piste and doing some fun stuff in the park. I want to learn how to do tricks and also get better at off piste skiing would you recommend these? I’m 6’1 190. I’ve heard amazing things about these but I don’t have much knowledge when it comes to skis.
Hey Alex, I am 6'7 230. I would definitely do the 184 for all the things you are looking to do!
Excited to get out on these this season!
FREESKIER = some of THE best ski reviews
yes good stuff but being static without one's leg in the boot you are pulling the booster strap too far. You don't want to end up on the very edge of elasticity. So, in an effort to correct an off centered strap just to update you should put your boot on and fasten the Booster Strap around your upper cuff. Keeping it Centered while being pulled just taught enough so when it is fastened in so the elasticity is centered, taught just enuf and pretty much perfect Then mark the screw holes either 1 or two centered on the rear of the strap. Not saying don't trust a shop just as easy to do yourself and you'll know it was done with care. P.S. I used like an Ice Pick tool to punch through the fabric however just mark with a pen is fine...cheers.
Exactly, this is an ad anda sponsorship, not a review.
I’m 179cm 77kg. Usually ski on 182/183 cm . I think that the 186 will be too long … 179 seems to be better ? What’s your opinion?
Im the same height and weight. Just ordered the 179’s, rather have it more playful and better in the woods, than a bit more better at prepped pistes/carve/highspeed
I totally agree with @NolsYesForMe
how is the performance of these skis in the powder?
I am a big fan of this ski in powder and I think it really excels in chop the ski feel is very constant in the tip and tail which makes it very predicable.
It has been discontinued, why are you reviewing this now?
They are still being sold, you can find them here... cardosystems.com/products/packtalk-outdoor
